Liberty County girls basketball coach Nichole Tazewell says she is excitedly looking forward to next year and the future of the Lady Panthers.

The 2002 LCHS graduate went to Valdosta State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 2006. She returned to Liberty County in 2008 and began teaching and coaching JV at Liberty.

In 2011, Tazwell was named athletic director and basketball coach at Lewis Frasier Middle School. She was named the Lady Panthers head coach in 2016.

“We have just completed our second season and I’m really excited about the future of the Lady Panthers,” she said.

This summer, Tazewell said she will hold camps to help condition and improve the skills of area athletes looking to play at the high school level.

The Lady Panthers are in competitive Region 2-AAA, which includes Pierce County.

Their competition through the year is even more competitive, and includes AAAAAA schools such as Bradwell and Richmond Hill.
