Long County basketball teams closed out the regular season Friday in Ludowici with the girls notching a win, but the boys falling.
In the boy’s action, Long County lost to the Benedictine Cadets 62-59. With the Region 2-AA loss, the Blue Tide ended the regular season with a 17-7 overall record and a 10-4 mark in the region.

Though the boys lost, the game meant little to Long County because the Blue Tide had already secured the second spot in the region standings, behind only Vidalia (21-3 and 13-0).

With the win, the Cadets finish the regular season with a 14-10 overall record and an 8-6 region record, putting them in the third spot, tied with Bacon County who finished the year at 12-12 and also 8-6.
In the early game, the Lady Tide won their game over Saint Vincent’s Academy 58-49. With the win the girls finished the regular season with an 18-7 overall record and 11-3 in the region.

The girls end the year in the third spot in the region, behind Vidalia (20-4) and Jeff Davis County (23-2) who both ended regular season with a 12-2 region record.

Friday was also Senior Night for Long County. Pick up a Wednesday paper for a full story on the graduating seniors.
