Lady Tide drop two more by lopsided scores

The Long County softball team’s slump continued last week, falling to Glynn Academy (5-1) and Islands High School (3-2) on the road.
Wednesday, the Lady Tide played the Lady Red Terrors in Brunswick. Long County played hard, but Glynn Academy proved to be too much, beating the Lady Tide15-3.

The Lady Terrors scored one run in the first inning and four in the second. Long County scored twice in the third, but Glynn answered with nine runs in the third. Long County scored a run in the fourth. Glynn answered with another run to close the game.
Lady Tide Rylie Poppell pitched two innings and got a strikeout. She walked two. Bailey Harrison came for relief. She walked five. Ainsley Dawson pitched an inning as well.

Harrison and Tityanna Wilsonwere 2 for 2 and each scored a run. Ch’Hyya Wright was 1 for 1 and scored one.
Monday, Long County was back on the road, taking on Islands High in Savannah.
The Sharks jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, beating the Lady Tide 16-4.
Harrison and Poppell both went two for three at bat.

After starting the season 3-1, Long County has now lost five games in a row. The Lady Tide will try to end the losing skid today in Savannah against Jenkins. The Lady Warriors bring a 3-1 record into the contest, which is scheduled to start at 4:30.
