Lady Tide go 1-1 over weekend

The Long County girls went 1-1 over the weekend, beating Bryan County 59-50 in Ludowici on Friday, but falling to Ware County 40-30 in Waycross on Saturday.

The Lady Tide are now 5-3 overall and holding onto the third spot in the 2-AA Region with a 3-1 record.
On Tuesday, Long County was to play Jeff Davis in Hazlehurst for another big region game. Going into the contest, the Lady Yellow Jackets were 8-0 and ranked as the No. 7 AA team in the state, according to this week’s MaxPreps/Power Poll. They also were 3-0 in the region and tied for first place with Vidalia (8-1 and 3-0).

Results from the Jeff Davis game were not available in time for this story.

Saturday, the Lady Tide take on cross-county rival Wayne County in non-region action. When the teams played earlier this year, the Lady Yellow Jackets proved to be too much for Long County, team notching a 53-30 win. The game begins at 5 p.m. in Ludowici.
