The Long County High School softball team split a doubleheader with Jeff Davis County in Hazlehurst Friday in the first round of the 2-AA Region tournament.

In the early game, the Lady Tide won, 2-1. In the second, the Lady Yellow Jackets stormed back to win, 7-3.

The teams were to square off again Saturday, but results were not available in time for this story.
