A Liberty County High School soccer player committed to play collegiate soccer at Elmira College on Tuesday. Michael Redding had a signing ceremony at the LCHS media center in front of friends and family.

“It seems surreal and he has been working towards this since he was five,” Michael Redding’s mother Jamie Redding said. “It’s sad for us because he is going so far, but we are so proud.”

LCHS livestreamed the ceremony for Redding’s father who is currently deployed to Afghanistan.  Redding is expected to leave for pre-season training the first week of August.
