Former Liberty High School football standout Richard LeCounte turned heads this past Saturday at the University of Georgia’s G-Day spring football game.

LeCounte, who committed to UGA back in December and enrolled early to get ahead in his classes, was the starting safety for the Georgia Black team and finished the game with a team high nine total tackles and one pass deflection in Georgia Black’s 25-22 loss to the Georgia Red team.

Following the game, head coach Kirby Smart gave the freshman high praise, saying that he enjoys coaching LeCounte and that "he is going to be a great ball player."

Georgia opens the 2017 season on Sept. 2 against Appalachian State at Sanford Stadium.
