The Liberty Lady Thunder fell by one run in an extra inning to the 18U Angels of Savannah on Feb. 20. The Lady Thunder lost 4-3.

Danielle Durham, Stephanie Cedola, Charlee Coursey and Chantel Breeden led the Thunder on offense.

Coach Joseph Fincham said runs were tough to come by, but the young team stepped up to the challenge.

"Stellar performances on defense kept the game within reach for seven innings," he said. "Barbara Rego, Savannah Fincham, Kanae Gordon, Baily Carmichael and Jessica Puckett turned many of the Angels’ guaranteed hits into routine outs."

Next up for the local softball team is the travel season opener on March 13 at a tournament in Brunswick.
