Local hurler drafted by KC Royals

Former Liberty County Panther and First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlander baseball player Richard Lovelady was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB draft Friday.

Lovelady, a left handed pitcher at Kennesaw State was the 313th pick overall.

According to Lovelady’s mother, Julie Nelson Lovelady, the hurler will be flying out Monday to begin his professional career.
