Long County High School cross-country runner Kaylee Camp claimed first place in the Region 2-AA meet Oct. 30 in Swainsboro.
Camp finished in 21 minutes, 46 seconds. She reportedly is the first cross-country competitor from LCHS to advance to the state meet, which is Saturday in Carrollton.
“Kaylee is a great runner who works hard and likes to run,” Lady Tide coach Erica Harris said. “I’ve worked on pacing her, and she got faster. My quote for the season has been, ‘Running is the greatest metaphor for life because you get out of it what you put into it.’”
