The First Presbyterian Christian Academy middle-school boys’ basketball team won the championship game at the Thanksgiving Throwdown this past weekend at Walker Middle School in Ludowici.

The Highlanders beat Snelson Golden, 40-27, for the title. According to FPCA coach David Linderman, George Mitchell had a standout tournament with 27 points in the semifinals and 35 in the championship game. Mitchell was MVP.

“I was very proud of the team,” Linderman said. “After practicing only three days, they were able to step it up and go for the win.”
Linderman also thanked Anthony Mathis for coaching help.
