A gospel sing to help raise funds for a student missionary trip to the Dominican Republic will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Ludowici.
The Long County Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be making the trip June 14-21 with the goal of spreading God’s word. The message will be given to other youth in the Dominican Republic as all of the students compete and play different sports together. There are 15 local students who will make the trip, and the cost for each will be $1,000 plus the cost of airfare.
The event is one of several fundraisers scheduled to help the students raise money for the trip. Justin Gordon, Jennifer Smith, Bethany Gilliam, Diana Anderson and Jennifer Sickmeier are among the scheduled performers. In addition to the music, students who attended last year will talk about their experiences and how their lives were changed, as well as students with whom they came in contact.
There is no admission, and a love offering will be accepted to help the students. For more information, call Kristie Garcia at 912-271-1944 or Paul Austin at 912-281-5124.
The group also has a Facebook page under FCA Dominican Republic Fund Raising Page.
