Last week was a rough one for the Long County High School softball team, which dropped the three games it played.
The Lady Tide lost to Jeff Davis High School, 5-0, on Monday; Bryan County, 3-1, on Tuesday; and Bacon County, 8-0, on Thursday. With the three losses, the Lady Tide fell to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in Region 2-AA.
During the weekend, Long County traveled to Cordele for the Watermelon Bash. Opponents included Crisp County, North Springs High School, Jackson County and Schley County. Results from the Watermelon Bash games were not available at press time.
On Monday, the Lady Tide is at home against Liberty County High School. The Lady Panthers bring a 0-2 mark into the game. Long County has defeated Liberty County in eight of the teams’ last 10 contests, most recently two weeks ago on the Panthers’ territory, where the Tide won 9-4. The game in Ludowici starts at 5:45.
