The Long County Middle School boys basketball team recently won the 8th grade Southeast Georgia Middle School Conference title by beating Arthur Williams Middle School, 40-25, in Jesup.
This year’s team brought back eight players from last year’s 6th- and 7th-grade team that also won the title a year ago.
The Wildcats finished this season by going 14-4.
“These kids have worked hard, it started last April with the open gym and continued through the summer, practicing, playing games and going to camp at the University of Florida… They earned it through hard work and dedication,” coach Charles Wilkes said. “I’m really proud of them.”
