Former Bradwell Institute punter/kicker and soccer player David Miller made the president’s list at Georgia State University for the fourth time, according to the school’s athletic website.
Miller was one of two football players named to the 2014 spring-semester list, Georgia State’s highest academic distinction, signifying a semester grade-point average of 4.0 or higher with at least nine credit hours. He was one of 32 football players who earned academic honors for the spring semester.
Miller also was on the president’s list for the spring 2012, spring 2013 and fall 2013 semesters. He was on the dean’s list for fall 2011 and fall 2012.
Miller, a senior, is listed on the 2014 Panther football roster. During his junior season, the two-year letterwinner was the backup punter and placekicker and holder on field goals and extra points. Miller took over as the holder for the final six games of last season.
Miller also served as the holder in 2012, when he also had one kickoff against Villanova and was named to the 2012 Colonial Athletic Association Football Academic All-Conference team.
In other Georgia State football news, former Liberty County High School player Melvin King will enter his junior season as a Panther this season. King, a two-year letterwinner, is a backup outside linebacker. To date, he’s played in 19 games and has 14 total tackles and 1.5 sacks and deflected one pass.
