Richmond Hill’s golf teams claimed individual and team low-score honors in each division of a meet with Liberty County and Bradwell Institute on Tuesday at Cherokee Rose Country Club.
Richmond Hill took the boys’ match with a team score of 176. Ryan Morrisey shot a 5-over-par 41 on nine holes to win the boys’ medalist honors. Teammates Jay Hires and Frederick Jackson each recorded a 44, while Casey Moye had a 47.
The Liberty County boys’ team, which finished with a team score of 253, got its lowest score from Conner Bailey, who fired a 49.
Due to an illness by Bradwell’s Ken DeKiserrer, BI was unable to field a full team and didn’t record a team score. For the Tigers, Ben Zibell shot a 48, Houston McNeil registered a 52 and Taton White had a 55.
According to Tiger golf coach Ken Griffin, his boys’ team is doing a good job of improving as the year has progressed.
“They are playing the course and not the other golfers,” he said.
In the girls’ division, Richmond Hill’s Miranda Bickes was 3-over-par for a 39 to earn girls’ medalist honors. Fellow Wildcat Madyson Tapia finished with a 43 to give RHHS a team score of 82.
Liberty and Bradwell each had a team score of 119. Morgan Crowley shot a 55 for Liberty, while  Bradwell’s Madison Wizleb shot a 58.
Griffin said he is working hard to develop the BI golf program.
“Our goal is to find young men and women who would like to learn the sport,” he said. “We need to put focus on the students in the middle schools to get them prepared to play for when they reach the high-school level.”
The teams face each other again Tuesday at Sterling Creek in Richmond Hill.
