Scott’s All-Stars finished second in the Central Savannah River Area Fall Basketball League two weeks ago in Augusta.
“Our kids performed well throughout the year, finishing 4-4 and advancing to the championship game,” All-Stars founder Marcus Scott said.
He said the winter league allowed some of his players, who were not participating in football at the time, to prepare for the upcoming middle-school season and recreation leagues.
While in Augusta, the players toured Paine College and Augusta State University, Scott said.
“They got an opportunity to witness what is expected in college by speaking to college students in the library, and they interacted with kids their age at Painefest,” Scott said. “Painefest is an annual event where different vendors come on campus and provide activities for the community. The kids really enjoyed the campus.”
