The Bloom-N-Lunatics, a soccer team comprised of players from Hinesville and Richmond Hill, took second place at the Summer Slam tournament July 13-14 on Jekyll Island. The team battled the No. 2 team in the nation in the championship game, and coach Michael Wilkinson said the girls did their best and fought to the end. The performance qualified the team for an upcoming tournament at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. The team also possibly will compete in a tournament in Thomasville.
