Bradwell Institute broke its losing streak Friday, earning a 13-10 win over Windsor Forest at Grayson Stadium. It was the Tigers’ first win of the season and a Region 3-AAAAA victory as well.
Windsor Forest got on the scoreboard first but Tiger quarterback LaBaron Anthony fired back, completing a 20-yard pass to Nate Campos. That set up a run drive that finished when Anthony sold a fake handoff and scampered in for a touchdown. Robert Miller’s extra point tied the game at 7-7.
Windsor Forest regained the lead off a field goal to go up 10-7.
The Tigers went back to work and Anthony connected with Kirk Hill for a 27-yard reception. A few plays later, Justin Hurt plowed up the middle through a pile of defenders for the Tigers to go ahead with a touchdown.
Despite missing the extra point, BI held on to win 13-10. The win broke BI’s 12-game losing streak.
Official statistics were unavailable, and calls to coach Jim Walsh were not returned by press time.
The Tigers are 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the region and will host Glynn Academy next Friday. Read Wednesday’s Coastal Courier for an update on final stats.
