The Long County High School track-and-field team held its annual awards banquet May 14 at the Golden Corral in Jesup.

The Long County High School track-and-field team held its annual awards banquet May 15 at the Golden Corral in Jesup.
After the team reminisced about the season and enjoyed a good meal, head coaches Deshon Brock and Erica Harris presented individual awards.
For the girls’ team, Mya Howard received the Best Field Award, Trinity Hall received the Distance Runner of the Year Award, and Ja’Nya Bryant received the Sprinter of the Year Award.
Courtney McNeal earned the Most Improved Runner Award, Kyana Calhoun claimed the Best Academic Achievement Award, and Katie Estill took home the Coaches Award.
For the boys, Shuvon Davis earned the Outstanding Field Performer Award and earned a bar for his letter. Dequan Glover picked up the Sprinter of the Year Award and a bar. Cameron Taylor earned the Distance Runner of the Year Award, the Mid-Distance Runner of the Year Award and a letter, while Brendon Scott claimed the Best Academic Achievement Award, the Blue Tide Award and a bar for his letter.
Earning their first letters were Donnell Campbell, Eric Crawford, Quentin Faucen, Jonathan Holton, Darvis Holmes, Lewis Marshal, Holden Riddle, Mike Ross, Alex Sanchez, Xavier Stapleton, Daniel Street and Chris Wells.
