The Long County Board of Commissioners recognized the Long County 14 and under All-Star basketball team Friday for winning the Georgia Recreation Parks Association district and state championship.

Members of the team received an achievement certificate from Commissioner Willie Thompson and Commission Chairman Mike Riddle.

Players, who attended the ceremony included Justin Thomas, Anthony Jones, Sam Turner, Ethan Williams, Adison Russell, Chandler Howard, Eben Thomas, Cameron Johnson, and Tostados Pouncy.

The team was coached by Craig Walker and Justin Thomas. Members of the team unable to attend were Anthony Jones and Adari Grant.
