According to a press release on the National Basketball League’s website, former Liberty County basketball player Jordan McRae had a good game against Australian NBL’s reigning championship team this week.
McRae currently plays for Melbourne United.
The report said McRae had a rough time Sunday in Melbourne’s loss to the Breakers, but the former University of Tennessee guard made up for that and more Wednesday night. McRae helped lead Melbourne to a crucial 86-78 victory over the Perth Wildcats at Perth Arena.
The article said McRae has had a terrific season as an import, coming in fresh off being picked in the NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Sunday, when McRae scored just two points and hit 1-of-14 from the field in a loss to the New Zealand Breakers, was his first bad day of the season.
The report said Wednesday, McRae made 27 points, seven rebounds, four steals and, more importantly, the win, which the report said goes a long way to shoring up Melbourne’s playoff hopes.
