In his third NBA start, former Liberty County basketball player Jordan McRae scored 21 points against the Chicago Bulls last Wednesday.
The current Cleveland Cavalier also had 2 assists and 3 rebounds in 33 minutes of action.
The Cavaliers lost 106-94.
McRae was the second highest scorer in the game behind LeBron James who scored 31 points. McRae got the start replacing Kyrie Irving who is still nursing an injury.
The Cavaliers played without Kevin Love who is recovering from a stomach bug. James was questionable until minutes before tip-off, after missing morning shoot practice, according to the Cavaliers’ website.
With all the personnel changes, McRae told reporters the team is still trying to adjust.
“I mean, a lot of us that are playing — we’re young, we’re learning on the fly. I find myself asking questions I’ve asked in practice in the game,” McRae said, adding that James has been carrying the load the last few games. “There’s no excuse. We’re still a great team. We’ve got some guys out. We’re just trying to figure it out.”
Friday, the Cavaliers beat the Brooklyn Nets 116-108. McRae played 10 minutes and scored only 1 point from the line. The Cavs play the Suns in Phoenix at 8:30 this evening.
