According to a report from Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com, former Liberty County basketball player Jordan McRae will remain with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the remainder of this NBA season.

McRae was signed to a 10-day contract Feb. 27 which expires tomorrow. Based on Haynes’ report the Cavaliers’ management will sign McRae to the remainder of the year with an option for next season.

McRae was called up to the NBA from the Delaware 87er NBA-D-league team by the Phoenix Suns in January just days after setting a D-League record of single points scored in a game (61). The Suns signed him to a second 10-day contract but never offered another option to McRae.

McRae debuted with the Cavaliers on Feb. 28 and has since totaled 13 points while shooting 50 percent from behind the arc in only three games played with 14 minutes of total playing time.
