Monster-truck show coming to Pooler

Monster trucks and motorcycle jumpers will put on a show this weekend in Pooler during the Monster Truck Spring National Show.

Oglethorpe Speedway in Pooler will host the 2015 Monster Truck Spring National Show this weekend.
Seven monster trucks and the Metal Mulisha motorcycle jumpers are scheduled to appear.
“Iron Outlaw” will attempt to do the highest backflip ever by a monster truck, according to a news release issued by Oglethorpe Speedway. The 10,000-pound truck will try to do the flip while 25 feet in the air.
Other monster trucks to be featured include “Monster-medic,” billed as the world’s only monster-truck ambulance; monster-jam world champion “Bounty Hunter;” two-time world champ “Equalizer;” rookie of the year “Red Solo;” “Shell-Camino,” driven by top female driver Shelley Kujat; and “Clydesdale,” the second monster truck ever made.
Monster-truck rides will be offered before and after the shows and during intermissions.
Shows are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Doors open two hours before shows. Pit parties run from when the doors open until 20 minutes before shows.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children ages 2-12. VIP tickets are available for $25 apiece. VIP-ticket holders get preferred seating, admission to the pre-show pit party to meet drivers and cycle jumpers, take pictures with the trucks and get autographs, while each child will receive a collectors’ edition racing flag.
