Panthers fall to Bears

The Diamond Panthers lost to the Pierce County Bears 9-4 on Friday evening in a game riddled with errors and walks.

Dylan Connely started on the mound for the Panthers and struggled to find the strike zone all night. Connely walked six in three innings but started to show signs of improvement in his final inning. Brandon Whitmore came in to relieve and looked impressive on the mound, possibly making a bid to move from reliever to starter.

Matt Desbiens and Eddie Chipple each had two hits for the Panthers at the plate.

Samuel said, "I scheduled six games before our first region game to work on these problems. I would rather make mistakes now and learn from them than wait until region play."

The Panthers were scheduled to play at Windsor Forest on Tuesday.
