The Liberty County High School baseball played three games in three days this past week, with two contests being at home and one on the road.

In their first game on Tuesday, the Panthers took a tough 13-4 loss to McIntosh County Academy. McIntosh pounced early, scoring seven runs in the first three innings. The Panthers scored a run in the first inning and two in the third, but McIntosh kept the pressure up, and scored six runs in the final two innings to put the Panthers away.

The next day, Liberty was able to pick themselves up with a 7-4 win over New Hampstead High School. Down 4-3 heading into the fifth inning, the Panthers were able to score two runs off an error, and then another run with an RBI single from Jacob Albertson. The pitching for Liberty County was phenomenal, as Aric Albertson threw a complete game, giving up three hits and striking out 17 batters.

Game three was a loss for Liberty County as they were defeated 13-8 by Portal High School on the road. The Panthers were off to a great start, scoring two runs in the first inning, but Portal answered back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the second.

Liberty retaliated with three runs in the top of the third, but that prompted Portal to put up a total of seven unanswered runs in the third and fourth. The Panthers cut the lead to one, being down 9-8 midway through the sixth, but Portal scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to break ahead and eventually get the win.

Matt Williams threw seven strikeouts in three innings pitched for Liberty County, while Ronnie Keaton and Jacob Albertson record 2 RBIs each.

The Panthers are now 3-9 on the year as they look toward matchups against Calvary Day, Tattnall County and Savannah County Day this week.
