The Liberty County baseball team is taking a break from its Region 3-AAA schedule – but its winning streak isn’t slowing down.
The Panthers ran their current win streak to five after sweeping a two-game set with First Preparatory Christian Academy. Liberty County is 17-3 on the season and 7-1 in the region after taking a two-game set from Groves last week.
Against the Rebels, the Panthers piled up 19 hits in 15-0 and 21-4 routs. Glemon English was 1-for-3 with a double and scored seven runs in the series. Shedrick Pass with 4-for-6 and drove in seven runs, while Hunter Lites was 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs. Anthony Gerace was 3-for-4 with a triple and knocked in two runs, Trevor Lites went 2-for2 with three RBIs, Caleb English was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Caden Chancey was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Pass and Jaden Herrington combined for three no-hit innings in the 15-0 win, striking out seven and walking four. Wyatt Huston struck out 10 and allowed three earned runs on four hits and four walks in four innings in the second game.
In the wins over the Highlanders, Pass was 3-for-6 with a double and three RBIs, Glemon English went 2-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs, Jahair Rodriguez drove in two runs, Herrington was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in one run, Mikey Miller went 1-for-3 with a triple and Gerace and Huston each went 2-for-7 with a double.
Miller and Herrington combined for eight strikeouts and gave up just four hits in a 12-0 win over the Highlanders. Glemon English fanned five and allowed two earned runs in four innings and Pass struck out three in two scoreless innings in a 12-2 win.
Chase Streeper and Mason Linderman each went 2-for-6 for FPCA in the series.
Liberty travels to Pembroke today for a game against Bryan County and visits Bradwell Institute on Friday.
The Panthers return to region action Monday when they host Southeast Bulloch, with first pitch at 5:30 p.m.
