The cold weather descended on the Liberty County baseball field, but Panther pitcher Colby Rhea stayed hot as he threw 16 strikeouts against the visiting Bradwell Tigers.
The Panthers also mustered a few hits, taking a 4-0 win Friday night.
Rhea also went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs in the victory.
Liberty scored a run in the first inning, two in the third and its final run in the fifth inning to seal the deal.
Tigers Evan Crystal and Wes Brooks both went 1 for 3. Crystal tossed eight strikeouts.
Liberty is 2-2 overall and was set to play Fannin County on Saturday at Bryan County.
The Tigers are 0-1 and were scheduled to play Charlton County Saturday afternoon. The results of the Saturday games were not available by press time.
