The First Presbyterian Christian Highlanders hit the road to rematch the Pinewood Christian Patriots in Bellville Saturday, but were handed two losses in their double-header against an experienced and tough squad.
"We lost both," Highlander coach Joey Brown said. "They pitched their top pitcher and he shut us out."
The Highlanders have two of the more experienced players out right now. Griffin Larkin was among six Highlanders from the soccer squad chosen to go to London for a soccer camp with the pros. Garret Thornton suffered an ankle injury earlier in the season and his return is still unknown.
"We did do better then last time and scored 9 runs in the second game," Brown Said. "They still beat us 19-9 but we are improving and played most of our fifth and sixth graders. And they are still very young."
The Highlanders were set to hit the road again Tuesday afternoon for a game against Robert Toombs academy. We will post the scores and highlights when they become available.
