Region 2-AA tourney under way in Ludowici

The Region 2-AA basketball tournament continues today in Ludowici at Long County High School.
Girls’ basketball action begins at 4 p.m. with fourth-seeded Bryan County (14-12) facing the winner of Tuesday’s St. Vincent’s/Bacon game. At 7 p.m., No. 3 Jeff Davis (19-6) plays the winner of Tuesday’s Long County/Groves matchup.
In the boys’ games, No. 4 Benedictine Military School (9-9) faces either Long or Bacon game at 5:30, while at 8:30 p.m., No. 3 McIntosh County (15-10) plays Tuesday’s Groves/Jeff Davis winner.
Results of Tuesday’s games were unavailable at press time.
On Thursday, the top seeds have their day. Girls’ No. 1 McIntosh County (16-9) plays in one semifinal at 4 p.m., while No. 2 Vidalia (21-4) plays in the other semifinal at 7 p.m.
Boys’ No. 1 Vidalia (23-2) plays its game at 5:30 p.m., followed by No. 2 Bryan County (19-6) in its semifinal at 8:30 p.m.
The girls’ championship game will be at 7 p.m. Friday, with the boys’ title contest to follow.
Admission each day is $7 per person.
