The Scott’s All*Stars basketball program recently awarded two Marcus Scott/Canzola Scott $500 scholarships.
Bradwell Institute graduate Keyana Boone and Liberty County High School graduate Mikia Frazier were selected to receive the funds.
According to Scott’s All*Stars’ founder Marcus Scott IV, students from Long County High School, Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School were allowed to apply for the funds.
“In order to qualify, the students must be seniors with no major discipline problems, have mentor experiences, leadership experience, community-service experience and accepted in college,” he said.
Scott said no one from Long County applied.
Boone already has been accepted to Mercer University, while Frazier will attend Spelman College.
“Both candidates had exceptional resumes and have already had a major impact on this community,” Scott said.
Scott said the scholarship is named for his grandmother Canzola Scott, who recently passed away, and his family’s name legacy from Marcus Scott I through Marcus Scott V.
