Former Liberty County High School baseball player and current Savannah State University Tiger Trey Sikes was named the 2015 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Former Liberty County High School baseball player and current Savannah State University Tiger Trey Sikes was named the 2015 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year, according to an SSU news release.

Sikes, a senior first baseman, led the conference in doubles (16) and finished second in total bases (94). He also tied for second in home runs (seven) and third in RBIs (37). His five sacrifice flies ranked 55th nationally.

Sikes was a 2014 All-MEAC first-team honoree and the 2015 Preseason Player of the Year. Also this season, he earned MEAC Player of the Week honors for March 2.

The Tigers went 20-31 overall with a 12-12 mark in the MEAC this season.
