Fundraising bowling tournament set
Fort Stewart’s United States Bowling Congress Bowling Association will host the Strike for a Cure bowling tournament from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Marne Lanes, 54 Steele Ave., building 402, on Fort Stewart.
The event is a fundraiser for the Team Liberty County 2015 Kiss-A-Pig Campaign, benefitting the American Diabetes Association. For the second-straight year, Team Liberty is the Liberty County School System.
Entry cost is $45 per team and is open to everyone, including youth. The rules include:
• Teams will have three people, any combination of genders.
• Team will bowl three games of 9-pin no tap (nine on the first throw will count as a strike).
• Bowler 1 will bowl frames 1, 4 and 7; Bowler 2 will bowl frames 2, 5 and 8; Bowler 3 will bowl frames 3, 6 and 9.
• Team can choose who bowls the 10th frame for each game
There also will be raffle of items donated by local businesses, including a new bowling ball.

Savannah Storm tryouts planned for Sunday
The Savannah Storm, an expansion franchise of the American Basketball Association, will host tryouts for open roster spots for the upcoming season.
The next two tryouts are from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 14 at the Tompkins Center, 2319 Ogeechee Road. There is a $50 registration fee, and registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Each potential player must bring their driver’s license.
The Storm play in the East Coast Basketball League.
