Hinesville Gators to hold tryouts
The Hinesville Gators will be hold tryouts for select soccer from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Tuesday at James Brown Park on Tupelo Trail in Hinesville for boys and girls ages 12-18. Tryouts are free and will be coached by Tom Sukaratana.

Elite soccer camp set for next month
The Hinesville Soccer Association and Hinesville Gators are sponsoring an elite soccer camp July 6-9 at James Brown Park.
Team Italy scout and trainer Gavino Asteghene, director of the Atlanta Calcio Academy, will return to lead the camp.
Asteghene, a native Italian who also coaches at the Lovett School in Atlanta, first came to Hinesville in 2013 and worked with the First Presbyterian Christian Academy teams.
That year, the FPCA girls, who finished second in the state the year before, won the state title, and the boys were state runner-up.
Traveling with Asteghene is longtime coaching partner and ACA International coaching staff member David Sexton.
Hinesville Gators and FPCA coach Tom Sukaratana also will assist in training.
Participants are asked to bring soccer shoes, shin guards, water bottles, soccer balls, sunscreen and enthusiasm.
The camp’s training incorporates techniques and foot drills used by European professional soccer teams.
Registration is $150 and includes a dry-fit camp shirt and select game ball.
Registration is available online at www.atlantacalcioacademy.com and is open to boys and girls ages 6-17.
