LCRD offers baseball, softball instruction

Baseball or softball instruction for individuals is now available at the Liberty County Recreation Department.
Former high school baseball coach Rhett Hellgren will provide instruction in any desired phase of the game including batting, fielding, catching and baseball pitching (sorry, no softball pitching).
Lessons last 30 minutes, and the cost per lesson is as follows: one lesson, $35; two lessons, $60; four lessons, $110; and eight lessons, $200. Lessons are offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 2:30 p.m.

Seventh annual tryouts set for Scott’s All-Stars

Scott’s All-Stars will have their seventh annual tryouts from 3-5 p.m. March 12 and 13 at the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s Liberty County/Armed Services Branch, 201 Mary Lou Drive in Hinesville.

Marne Lanes to host Veterans Bowling Fundraiser in April

Marne Lanes will host a Veterans Bowling Fundraiser, with all proceeds benefitting Disabled American Veterans.
The event will be held April 2, and the entry fee is $20 per person.
Registration begins at noon at the bowling alley, located at 54 Steele Ave., Building 402, on Fort Stewart.
The team with the highest score wins a trophy and $100. The individual with the highest score wins a trophy and a $25 Wal-Mart gift card. Doubles with highest score win a trophy and $25 Home Depot gift card.
