Liberty County High School’s home track meet Thursday was washed away by a storm that barreled through, but the Panthers placed well in the events held.
The host boys and girls finished in first place overall in nine events scored.
Coach Nathan Mimms said Lady Panther Alyisha Anderson took first place in the triple jump (37-feet, 5 inches) and is ranked first in the state in region AAAA in the triple jump. Anderson and the rest of the girls’ 4x100-meter relay team are also rankedthird in the state, after posting a first place run Thursday at 48.7 seconds. The Panther boys are sixth in the state in the 4x100 relay.
