Former Liberty Count High School football player Shadrach Thornton is emerging as the Wofpacks' leading rusher for the third year in a row.

The N.C. State Wolfpack football team, which features former Liberty County High School running back Shadrach Thornton, had one last non-conference game Saturday against Presbyterian. N.C. State coasted to a 42-0 win.
Thornton and the Wolfpack have a bigger task ahead with eight straight ACC games.

N.C. State is undefeated at 4-0. Thornton rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown Saturday and is once again emerging as the team’s leading rusher. The junior has 283 yards on 42 carries with five rushing touchdowns. He also has one reception for six yards.
Last year, Thornton rushed for 768 yards to lead the team and as a true freshman led the team with 694 yards.
ACC play starts with the Wolfpack hosting Florida State next week. Last season, against the Seminoles, Thornton rushed for a career-high 173 yards, including a career-long 72 yard touchdown, breaking the 1,000-yard mark for his career with that run.
