Tide struggling on diamond
baseball

The Long County High School baseball team’s woes continued this week as the Blue Tide fell to Charlton County and Pierce County.

On Wednesday, Long County traveled over to Folkston to take on the Indians.

The Blue Tide played tough but dropped the game 4-0.

With the win, Charlton improved their record to 9-2. On Friday, Long County was back at home hosting Pierce County in both schools’ first 2-AAA Region game of the season.

This game got ugly quickly, as the Blue Tide fell to the Bears 13-0.

With the win the Bears improved their overall record to 11-5 and their region mark to 1-0.

With the two defeats, Long County has now lost four games in a row dropping their overall record to 3-10 and their region record to 0-1.

On Tuesday, the Blue Tide have another region contest hosting Liberty County. With the Panthers also struggling, posting a 3-11 overall record and being 0-1 in the region, the game should be a tight one that both teams will be looking to win. The contest is in Ludowici set for 5:55 p.m.
