The Bradwell Institute track team is hosting its first annual Tiger Run 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
Lady Tiger track coach Sheron Daniel said the event is a fundraiser to benefit the girls and boys track teams this upcoming season.
The funds raised will help defray the cost of traveling to and from tournament meets and regional and state competitions.
Daniel took over as the girls track coach after former coach Readie Kelly retired before the start of last year’s season. Daniel led the girls to a Region 3-AAAAA runners-up finish. The boys, coached by DeAndre Davis, took their sixth region trophy in seven years last season.
Registration is under way. The fee is $15 for kids 12 and younger and $25 for ages 13 and older. Those who register by Nov. 29 will get a free-T-shirt. The deadline for registration is Dec. 1.
Online registration is available at https://runsignup.com/Race/GA/Hinesville/TigerRun5KwalkRun. A $2.50 online surcharge will apply.
Registration forms are available at the school’s office or request one by emailing sdaniel@liberty.k12.ga.us.
Race-day registration is available beginning at 7 a.m. on Midway Street, next to the old courthouse.
Prizes will be awarded.
