The Tigers look to improve their regional record tonight as they host the Groves Rebels at 7:30 at Olvey Field.
With a region record of 3-1, the Tigers hope to lock in a spot at the playoffs by obtaining a victory tonight against the Rebels who have a 2-2 regional record The Tigers have a 5-1 record against the Rebels to date, but both teams are close in their averages of points scored in a game, with the Tigers holding a 20.4 average to the Rebels 18.3.
The Tigers scored 143 points to date to the Rebels’ 128 but the Tigers have allowed only 100 points against them to the Rebels’ 200.
The Tigers are down one player with a broken collarbone, but have plenty of back-up players who are able to step in. Mike McGirt came in last week and was able to put up 200 rushing yards against Richmond Hill.
The offense continues to move the ball effectively with a good combination of runs and passes under quarterback Josh Magaw while head coach Jim Walsh emphasizes proper technique and execution.
In last week’s 56-6 victory over Johnson, the Tigers accumulated 387 total offensive yards.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 tonight and the game will be broadcast on WOAH 106.3 FM.
