Tigers fall 13-1 in scrimmage to Bryan County

Bradwell Institute hosted Bryan County in a baseball scrimmage Friday, with the Redskins taking a 13-1 win.
The Tigers gave up one run in the first inning. And Bryan County took the decisive lead in the fourth, scoring four runs. They sealed the win with six runs in the sixth inning.

The Tigers put the ball in play with seven hits, but the Redskin defense kept the Tigers from crossing the plate.
In the fifth inning, newcomer Wes Brooks hit an RBI to knock in Bradwell’s one run.
Brennan Long went 2 for 3 at bat. Hunter Hawkins, Evan Crystal, Ben Satele and Jordan Lambright were 1 of 2 each, Brooks was 1 for 3 with the RBI.

Bryan County’s AJ Wiley led the Redskins, going 2 of 3 at bat with a double, a home run and four RBIs.
Dawson Brown took the win for Bryan County, pitching all seven innings, walking three and striking out seven.

Tigers Evan Crystal, Kai Ash, Steven Harris and Brooks all saw action on the pitching mound, with Crystal taking the loss. He pitched two innings, striking out four and walking one.
Ash walked six and struck out three, Harris walked three and struck out two, and Brooks struck out two.

The Tigers take the next week and a half to prep for the first regular season game on Feb. 26, when they play at Liberty County at 6 p.m.
