Bradwell Institute’s baseball team was in Guyton Monday for the first Region 3-AAAAA game of the season.
The South Effingham Mustangs quickly dispatched the Tigers in a 13-0 shutout in four innings.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning off three singles, a two-run double and proficient base running.
The Mustangs added a run in the second, three in the third and two more in the fourth for the run-rule win.
The Tigers managed just one hit as Mustang pitcher Garrett Hodges tossed six strikeouts in 3 innings. He walked one and gave up the lone Tiger hit. Mustang JT Townsend pitched one inning, getting two strikeouts.
Tiger Ben Satele was 1 of 2. Kai Ash pitched all four innings, walking seven and netting one strikeout.
The Tigers will host South Effingham today at 6 p.m.
