Bradwell takes the gridiron stage tonight as they host McIntosh Academy in a scrimmage at 7:30 p.m. at Olvey field.
For the Tigers it is an opportunity to see how well senior Josh Magaw and his back up Trivon Williams handle the ball. Last year’s freshman starter Wilson Brown looks to sit out the season after knee surgery to repair his ACL.
Magaw has said he favored throwing the ball to Ronald Joseph, but look for Demario Day to place his hands on some throws or break through the line with his running game.
Senior linebackers Keddrick Brown and Jeremiah James aim to hit the offense hard as returning players for the defense under coach Jeff Miller’s 3-5 formation.
Last year the Tigers finished with 5 wins and 6 losses and hope to improve this year for another chance at the playoffs. The 2005 season was the first time the Tigers missed post-season play.
The Tigers open their regular season with an away game against Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m.
The McIntosh Buccaneers had an impressive season last year with eight consecutive wins. Their first game against Liberty County last year was called because of bad weather but the Buccaneers will open their season this year against the Panthers at Olvey field on Aug. 31.
