Tigers win thriller to advance to second round
Bradwell girls to play Friday, boys play Saturday; Long County rally falls just short

Tahshaun Frasier hit a free throw with 3.9 seconds left, lifting the Bradwell Institute Tigers to a 42-41 win over Lithonia in the first round of the Class AAAAA boys state basketball tournament Wednesday.

Dar’Kari Pasley’s fall-away leaner in the lane snapped a 37-37 tie, and Frasier fed Jordan Stevens for a layup and a 41-37 lead. But the Bulldogs tied the game at 41-41, converting a Tigers turnover into a layup.

Frasier was fouled on a fallaway jumper on the baseline and hit the second of two free throws for the win.

The Tigers will play Eagles Landing on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Lady Tigers, after their win over Decatur, will play at Harris County on Friday at 6 p.m.

The Long County boys fell 53-49 to Upson-Lee in the Class AAA first-round Wednesday. The Blue Tide trailed by as much as 15 points in the fourth quarter and cut the lead to two in the final minute.
