A split Tuesday brought Liberty County’s winning streak on the volleyball court to an end.

The Lady Panthers split their Tuesday play date, beating Groves 25-12, 25-8 but falling to Wayne County 26-24 and 25-11.

The Lady Panthers had posted 10 straight wins on the volleyball court, improving their mark to 13-3 on the season and 2-1 in Region 3-AAAA.

Liberty beat Savannah 25-17, 25-16 and downed Beach 25-11, 23-25, 15-11.

Over the last four matches, Ava Guercio posted 21 kills, 11 aces, 35 assists and 19 digs. Alyssa Aiello tallied five aces and 22 digs, Mackenzie Young had eight kills, five aces and four digs, Ella Gaddy had nine aces and eight digs and Lydia Broughman chipped in six assists and 21 digs.

The Lady Panthers host Bryan County and Savannah Classical Academy today, starting at 5:30 p.m., and host MCA and Brantley County on Tuesday in two more non-region tilts.
