Hinesville Downtown Development Authority Director Vicki Davis knows a thing or two about Liberty County — including the best places to visit. This week, Davis shares with us her favorite area attractions, which she said are based on her love of culture and history.

• Fort Stewart Museum and Warriors Walk. For every 3rd ID soldier who dies in the line of duty, an eastern redbud tree is planted on Warriors Walk.

• Fort Morris State Park

• Downtown Hinesville and the Old Liberty County Jail and Museum, which happens to be where Davis’ office is located.

• The Small World Festival and OktoberFest. Liberty County stages these events once a year and they’re not to be missed.

• Nature in general: the coast, LeConte-Woodmanston Plantation and Botanical Gardens and Melon Bluff Nature and Heritage Preserve
