This week, we asked Betsy Stow, Liberty County coordinator for Live Oak Public Libraries, about her favorite authors. Here’s her list:
1. Jane Austin: “I love Jane Austin and I read Jane Austin spin-offs.”
2. Agatha Christie: “She wrote at least 80 books.”
3. C.S. Lewis: “I’m a fan of the ‘Narnia’ series.”
4. Joanne Fluke: “She writes culinary mysteries. The main character is a baker who owns a cookie shop. There’s recipes scattered throughout the books.”
5. Dorothy Gillman: “She writes the ‘Mrs. Pollifax Mysteries.’ Dorothy Gillman is really good at pinpointing human nature.”
Stow said folks should check out library events, as well as books. The Liberty County Library on Memorial Drive will have a winter reading program for children throughout December. Children can enter a $150 Savannah Mall gift card drawing when they participate in the program.
