SAVANNAH, Ga. – Sweet Carolina Cupcakes, the Lowcountry’s premier cupcake bakery featuring one-of-kind flavor combinations and original cupcake designs, is pleased to announce its new location in downtown Savannah at 38 Whitaker Street.
This boutique bakery will celebrate its newest location with a special ribbon cutting event, which is free and open to the public, on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. A complimentary sampling of mini-cupcakes will be provided.
Sweet Carolina Cupcakes will also host an Open House on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., featuring cupcake specials throughout the day and live music starting at 6 p.m.
The new location includes an on-site bakery and dine-in area, making it the perfect spot for dessert after a delicious meal at one of Savannah’s many award-winning restaurants. “At Sweet Carolina Cupcakes, we offer the classic dessert shop experience,” said owner Holly Slayton. “We want our guests to enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere and additional sweet menu options we offer beyond cupcakes like Whoopie Pies, Cake Pops, fresh-baked muffins, wedding packages and so much more.”
Sweet Carolina Cupcakes has also formed a partnership with PERC Coffee, Savannah’s premier wholesale coffee roaster and supplier, offering Savannah’s first drip-to-order brew bar in its new location. Guests can choose from a variety of beans and grinds to create a custom cup.
Based on Hilton Head Island, S.C., Sweet Carolina Cupcakes opened its doors in 2008 and has enjoyed a loyal following, prompting its recent expansion into the Savannah area.
“When considering a second location for Sweet Carolina Cupcakes, Savannah was on our dream list,” said Slayton. “Savannah is a culinary gem and represents an eclectic mix of fine and casual dining experiences. We hope to add to the Savannah foodie experiences with our unique, progressive approach to baking, but still stay true to our family baking recipes passed down through generations.”
Sweet Carolina Cupcakes specializes in unique flavor combinations created from family recipes that rotate daily, including vegan-friendly and gluten-free menu items. Featured favorites include Coconut Snowball, Salted Caramel, Raspberry Zinger, Mocha Latte, Snickerdoodle, After Dinner Mint, Low Country Lemon and Sweet Carolina, a signature pink velvet cake.
