Roller Derby returns March 12

The Savannah Derby Devils women’s flat-track roller derby league returns to SuperGoose Sports for the first of two intra-league scrimmages this year.

The March 12 event will include an hour of full-contact skating between the local rollergirls as well as raffles, games, prizes, refreshments, merchandise and a free moonbounce for kids. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the scrimmage starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. There is a $2 discount off the door price for senior citizens (65 and older) and people with a military or student ID. Kids ages 8 and younger get in free. Some bleacher seating is available.

Hurricanes

The Hinesville Hurricanes will host a players’ meeting at 6 p.m. March 14 at the Live Oak Church in Hinesville. The registration fee is $125. The meeting is open to anyone interested in trying out for the team. For more information, call 912-269-0830.

 

AAU tourney

 

The Kings of the South AAU Invitational Tournament is scheduled for April 8-10 in Hinesville. Registrations will be accepted until April 1. There will be a boys’ division open to third- through 12th-graders and a girls’ division open to sixth- through 12th-graders. The entry fee is $250, and trophies will be awarded to first- and second-place teams. For more information, call 912-695-0481.

 

Tournament
